Within my daily environment I have a lot of people and things that support and aid me in getting my job done correctly. Some things I rely on and would have a hard time functioning without in my classroom is the app called precious status which is the form of communication between the school and the parents about their child. I never knew how much gloves came in handy either until we ran out one day and it was very hard trying to change children with the improper gloves or clean up for that matter. My director and assistant are also supportive people who help me throughout the day to make the day go smoother within the classroom and outside. My director makes sure I'm up to date with all my required trainings that way I can be the most effective teacher for my students. My assistant makes sure I'm not overwhelmed within the classroom and helps me with lesson plans, activities, and many other aspects of the classroom. I would be able to function without my assistant but it would be different being a room with someone else who don't really know the kids and their routine. Without precious status we would have to go back to writing everything down for the parents, and they wouldn't be able to see whats going on with their child until they picked them up. Gloves protect us from infections, sickness, poop, and many other things we may come in contact with.
The challenge I chose to imagine was opening my own daycare on day! I would want the support of my director for choosing to go out on my own journey in the early childhood field. I would also want the support of my family and friends, because I know starting your own business can be stressful at times. I would need support from bright from the start in order to get my business up and running. Most of all I would want support, strength, and guidance from God to make sure I make the right ethical decisions and be successful. Not having a support system can effect a persons sense of self and sometimes bring their confidence down. Without God nothing is possible!

Hello Angelique, it is important to have that continuous support of coworkers in order to achieve a career. without the support of my coworkers I don't think i would have as much motivation as I do to continue my education and efforts. We all want that need to be support by someone or something... Great Blog!
ReplyDeleteGood luck!

ReplyDeleteIts great to know that you have the support you need at work this will make your life so much easier. I am sure that if you open your own daycare you will do awesome. Believe in yourself and don’t forget to have a support system to help you out. Good luck on your future endeavors.
Angegique Awesome choice for your sharing your support. I didn't even think to go this route as far as sharing full support or my challenge within the ECE field. I surely agree with you, that when you journey out to open your own Day Care the continue support from your Director, friends and family is there. When I started my in Home I can say I had an abundance of supporters, my best friend Aunt was already established with her In Home in the same state MD, therefore, she was my huge support back then of walking me through. Then my director of the Day Care Center I was working for, was getting a whole new center makeover and therefore donate all the toys, cots, art supplies to me. My dad was very supportive, my guy friend at the time, and one of his best friends help me design my logo and put my parent package together. I can go on, but wishing much success in your journey and let me know if you need any help or ideas I'm here too!

I too think of opening my own daycare some day! It takes a tremendous amount of time and energy. Like you said, it is incredibly important to have a team of supporters behind you to allow for a smooth transition, especially those whom are already in the field.
