Over the years I have formed many relationships in my life and I strongly believe they have made me into the woman I am today. Different relationships teach you different things, some even change us for the better or for the worse. I will talk about three relationships I have in my life right now that I believe have changed me for the best. Me and my mom have a amazing bond from when I was little I was able to tell her anything and she has always been there for me supporting me along the way. I would say she is my best friend too, most people don't have that type of connection with their parents but I'm glad I do because when I was going through hard times and didn't feel I had anyone to turn to she was always there. My mom has inspired me to be the best I can and that I can do anything I put my mind too. Growing up seeing her struggle to pay my tuition but still being able to in the end gave me all the motivation I needed.
The second person I will talk about is my best friend Jay who is also my ex, its a complicated situation. However when I met him I never knew how much of a impact someone outside of my family could have on my life. He has opened my eyes to so many different ways of life, and because of him I found myself closer to God and really loving myself. After our break up I gained independence and self worth so the relationship might have brought heartbreak but it also brought so much good as well.
My third relationship is my assistant she really understands me and never judges me, which has really allowed em to come out of my shell when it comes to talking with people. I have never really been a people person but being around her and her vibe really allowed me to blossom. Over the years I realize with growth comes loss, some people stay around forever others are just for a season. Its hard losing friends and believe me I have lost a lot but they were only around to teach me a lesson and help towards my growth.

It is so nice to hear that you have a really good relationship with your mother. Unfortunately, there are mothers that don't build that relationship with their daughters.
ReplyDeleteIt is awesome to know that you have a great relationship with your mom. Sometimes it is not so easy to have that type of relationship with a mother especially when all she does is judge you. I am a mom myself and I have a great relationship with my kids in fact my girls always tell me that I am like their friend to because they can come and talk to me about anything. I have made it a point not to be like my mom and judge my kids I accept them and love them for who they are.
ReplyDeleteAfter reading your post, I could really relate to the people that you chose. I appreciated the comments that you made about your mother. I hope that my daughter and I will have a bond as strong as you and your mothers when she is older. I also appreciated where you said that some people are only in your life just teach you a lesson, that is so true, everyone is not meant to stay around forever.
