The first person is my mom who is my inspiration. She did everything she could for me growing up, and it taught me that things in life don't come free or easy and that sometimes we have to go through a struggle before we can see the light. My mom is my best friend, my diary, she is my everything and without her I wouldn't be the person I am today, she made sure I didn't want for anything and that I was loved and cared for. I've learned to love unconditionally, be outgoing and openminded because of her.
The second person is my dad who has taught me strength in his own way. Even though he was in and out throughout my childhood, I now understand the demons he was struggling with and I don't hold anything against him. He has come from the bottom all the way to the top and made up for all the time that was lost in my youth. He has taught me that even though we hit rock bottom at some point in our lives there is nowhere to go but up from there. When I find myself at my worst I think of all the trials and tribulations this man had to go through and suddenly I find myself picking up all the pieces of my life.
My third is my brother (cousin) who taught me many self defenses mechanisms growing up and how not to let peoples words effect me. He was always the brother I never had and I always wanted to be like him and have nice cars. He taught me how to live life for the here and now and not to over think the future so much and just let it flow. I still think that way till this day because so many stress over the future, Yes I plan accordingly but I don't allow it to stress me out.
My fourth person is my grandma this woman is a true survivor seeing what generation she grew up in. I have learned nothing but knowledge from her and felt nothing but love. She taught me how to cook, bake, clean, how to stay healthy with her being a nurse and all. She means the world to me and now its something else to see her lose all her memories because of Alzheimer's, but I will remember for her because those lessons, and speeches molded me into the young woman I am today.
Last but not least is my Aunt Rose, I don't have a picture of her but she introduced me into the most important person in my life and that is God! She was so God fearing it inspired me so much. I lost my way after she passed and didn't find it again until I met my best friend (ex) who got me back on my path to God. She was 106 when she returned home and I wasn't able to see her before she passed because I always put it off but we will meet again someday. But I will forever hold dear the memories.

Hello. I enjoyed your post. Your pictures were great. I too grew up with a cousin that was more like a sibling. With all of the nice and kind things that you said about everyone who influenced your life, what is the one thing that stands out to you the most and influences you while you teach young children?
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed reading your post and how you put pictures of everyone that was important in your life. It really helps when you have a great support team... Why did you decide to become a teacher and who influenced you the most?
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed reading your posts and the pictures too.Today, we are celebrating Mothers day in Nigeria and as i read your comment about your mum, i cant agree more that Mums are just special.
